Marco Ercolano Named Pre-Opening General Manager of The WestDill Mayfair London

Minor Hotels names Marco Ercolano pre-opening general manager of The WestDill Mayfair Hotel London, the Colbert Collection's second global flagship and its UK debut.

Minor Hotels appoints Marco Ercolano to open the Colbert Collection's UK debut

Minor Hotels has appointed Marco Ercolano as pre-opening general manager of The WestDill Mayfair Hotel London, Colbert Collection. The appointment precedes the Colbert Collection's first property in the United Kingdom. The WestDill Mayfair is the collection's second global flagship property.

The hotel is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026. The Caterer puts the property at 50 bedrooms. It occupies the corner of Piccadilly and Albemarle Street, in a Grade II-listed building designed in 1922-23 by Sir William Curtis Green.

Nearly two decades across London's luxury hotels

Ercolano brings nearly two decades of experience across London's luxury hotels. His career is grounded in operations and food and beverage. He has held senior positions at St. Ermin's Hotel, Autograph Collection by Marriott; The Trafalgar St. James, Curio Collection by Hilton; Canopy by Hilton London City; The Ritz London; and Bulgari Hotel & Residences London.

The Caterer reported that Ercolano joins the project from St Ermin's Hotel in London's Westminster.

Pre-opening remit covers operations and commercial strategy

In the role Ercolano will lead all operational and commercial strategy for the new London property. Minor Hotels describes the remit as bringing to life the Colbert Collection's philosophy of hotels with a soul.

"His extensive experience in London's luxury sector, combined with his proven track record in pre-opening and operational excellence, makes him the ideal leader to introduce the Colbert Collection to the UK market," Selves said.

Revenue management certification and a West London degree

Ercolano holds an Advanced Hotel Revenue Management certification from Cornell University. He holds a bachelor's degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management from the University of West London.

The brand behind the London property

Minor Hotels launched the Colbert Collection on 25 March 2026 as a global premium soft brand. The brand unites independent hotels through visual arts and culinary experiences. Its stated pillars are the art of gathering, the art of place and the art of taste.

Porta Rossa Hotel Firenze, Colbert Collection opened as the brand's first hotel worldwide on 12 May 2026 in Florence's historic centre. The brand plans Colbert Collection Koh Samui, its first property in Asia, for the first quarter of 2027.

The Colbert Collection draws on the spirit of Parisian boulevard cafes. Each hotel carries its own identity through curated experiences, from insider-led itineraries to dining and gatherings.

Minor Hotels is developing the London property with Royal Group of Companies Singapore.

The operator's wider footprint

Minor Hotels operates and has under development more than 640 hotels, resorts and branded residences across 67 countries. The group covers Europe and the Americas, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. Its hotel brands include Anantara, Elewana Collection, The Wolseley Hotels, Tivoli, Minor Reserve Collection, NH Collection, nhow, Avani, Colbert Collection, NH, Oaks and iStay.

Minor Hotels owns The Wolseley Hospitality Group, which operates UK restaurants including The Wolseley, The Delaunay, Colbert and Zedel. The Caterer reported that the group also signed a management agreement in the week before the announcement to operate Dukes London, which will become a Minor Reserve Collection hotel with a new restaurant from Wolseley Hospitality Group.

Four decades of hotel operation

Minor Hotels reports more than four decades in the hospitality industry. The group also operates a portfolio of restaurants and bars, travel experiences, and spa and wellness brands.

What the appointment covers

Ercolano takes the WestDill Mayfair through its pre-opening phase and into operation. The remit covers the property's operational and commercial strategy. The opening is set for the fourth quarter of 2026.
