SEMICON West Hands Its Room Block to the Hotels on 1 October

SEMICON West 2026 runs three show days at Moscone Center, and its CMR housing block handed reservations back to the hotels on 1 October while the city's October par rate sat 7 percent above its annual average.

The demand dates on the calendar

SEMICON West 2026 runs Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 October at Moscone Center in Moscone North and South. The expo hall opens 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. Twenty floor hours sit across the three days.

The exhibitor clock is longer. Move-in opens Thursday 8 October and move-out closes Saturday 17 October. Ten days cover the set-up and the strike around the three show days.

The block the show ran

Convention Management Resources was the show's official housing provider. General exhibitor housing opened 11 March 2026 at 9 a.m. Pacific, with priority sponsor block requests opening 4 March. A credit card guarantee held each reservation, and the housing page states a hotel may charge one night's room and tax as a deposit two to three weeks before arrival.

The published deadlines ran a rooming list on 28 August, a last day to cancel without penalty on 25 September and a last day to add, change or cancel on 29 September. From 1 October the hotels took over management of the reservations. Block requests open at 10 rooms or more.

CMR's housing information page names CMR as the only hotel management company authorised to place reservations for the show. It states that any other agency holds no agreement with the San Francisco hotels and cannot guarantee rates or rooms for the conference dates.

The rate basis the dates sit on

Engine publishes San Francisco's monthly par rates from 3.1M public rate observations taken between May 2024 and April 2026. The city averages $165 a night. October reads $176, 7 percent above the city average. September reads $192 and March $197. December is the cheapest month at $129, 22 percent below the average, so 35 percent separates the cheapest month from the dearest. San Francisco ranks 18 of 50 major United States markets, 11 percent above the $148 median.

Engine defines a par rate as the cheapest publicly available price at the time of each search. The observations sit 10 to 180 days before check-in. Both terms apply to every figure in the curve.

Three show days in mid-October therefore land inside the city's second-dearest month. The block terms above closed before the show dates arrived.

The district supply line

The Yerba Buena Partnership publishes a roster of 11 district properties with street addresses, from Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa at 250 4th Street to W San Francisco at 181 3rd Street. The Mosser Hotel sits in that roster at 54 4th Street. The roster is the district partnership's own list.

What the published record leaves open

SEMI publishes no attendance figure for the 2026 edition. The exhibitor list header on the show site reads 851 exhibitors, and that count reproduces on no other page. SEMI's own 2026 release states more than 734 exhibiting companies and more than 1,500 booths.

The show publishes no room rate, no block rate and no minimum stay for any conference hotel. The demand the dates carry rests on the floor hours above and on the ten-day move-in and move-out envelope.
