One Afternoon, One Rate Line
The 52nd Castro Street Fair ran Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Castro and Market streets in San Francisco. The theme was Where We Belong.
For inventory sold by the window, the whole event was one seven-hour block. The organiser publishes no room block, no host property and no group code.
The October Rate Line the Date Sits In
Engine puts San Francisco at $165 a night across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. The figures are par rates, the cheapest public price at the time of each search, observed 10 to 180 days before check-in.
October averages $176, seven percent above the city average, and the fair's date sat in October. September averages $192 and March $197, the two peaks of the year. December averages $129. The city ranks 18th of 50 markets at 11 percent above the $148 median.
Thirty-five percent separates the cheapest month from the priciest in the monthly table. For a reservations desk, the month of the stay is the larger lever on the total.
The Footprint and the Programme
Four street segments closed to traffic: Market Street from Noe to Castro, Castro Street from Market to 19th Street, 18th Street from Diamond to Noe and 17th Street from Castro to Noe. The fair was a smoke-free event.
The exhibitor page counts three big stages. The entertainment page heads the 2026 lineup Five Ways to Find Your Groove in 2026 and names five blocks. The Castro Stage at Castro and Market carried performances from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Gate and the Evening Hand-Off
Entry asked a suggested donation of $10 to $20 at the gates, and the FAQ adds that nobody is turned away for lack of funds. The organising body publishes no attendance, capacity or gate-count figure.
The Official Castro Street Fair After Party ran at the Castro Theatre. Doors opened at 5:30 p.m. and the show started at 6:00 p.m. The event was all ages, and tickets ran $35.25 to $65.25 through Ticketmaster.
Getting In and Out
Muni Metro's K Ingleside, L Taraval, M Ocean View and S Shuttle all stop at Castro Station, which the fair places inside the fairgrounds. The fair recommends Muni Metro as the way in. The crowd entered and left through the middle of the footprint.
What the Organiser Publishes on Rooms
The fair's site names no host hotel, no room block and no property list, and it publishes no rate. The one economic figure it publishes is an estimate from its own 50th-anniversary release, dated 2024. Then Board President Jenn Meyer put the prior year's total visitor impact at an estimated $8 million and said it benefited retail, dining and hotels.
The Booking Record a Desk Holds
The published record gives one date, a seven-hour window, four closed street segments, a $35.25 to $65.25 ticketed evening event and an October rate line. It gives no block, no host property and no rate.
A reservations desk working these dates sets its own booking window and its own price basis from the October line. That is a planning read of the published record.
