IHG Signs Two Tokyo Hotels for Noted Collection, Its Japan Debut

IHG signed a 207-key conversion in Shinjuku with SC Capital Partners and an 81-key new build in Ginza with An Consulting under Noted Collection, its 21st brand, for 2027 and 2029 openings.

IHG Signs Two Tokyo Hotels for Noted Collection

IHG Hotels & Resorts introduced its Noted Collection brand in Japan through agreements for two Tokyo hotels, each with a separate ownership partner. These are the brand's first Noted Collection signings in the country.

The first agreement, with SC Capital Partners, covers a conversion hotel with 207 keys in Shinjuku's Kabukicho district, near Golden Gai in an area of commercial, retail and entertainment activity. The property will be renovated and rebranded before it opens in 2027. It will run under its own identity within Noted Collection, with a lobby connected to a restaurant and cafe area. SC Capital Partners acquired the property through its Japan Hospitality Fund.

The second agreement, with An Consulting, covers an 81-key new-build hotel in the Ginza 8-chome district, within walking distance of Shimbashi Station and Ginza Station. Opening is scheduled for 2029. The plans list family-friendly suites, a restaurant and bar, and a fitness center. The hotel will become IHG's first in Ginza.

A Conversion and a New Build

The two agreements split by development type. The Shinjuku property is the brand's first conversion signing in Japan. The Ginza project is its first new-build signing there. The Shinjuku conversion brings 207 keys into the brand. The Ginza build adds 81 keys.

The 2027 and 2029 Opening Windows

The Shinjuku hotel is due to open in 2027. The Ginza hotel is due to open in 2029. IHG published a year for each opening and no month for either.

The Ownership Partners and the Brand Structure

SC Capital Partners signed for the Shinjuku hotel through its Japan Hospitality Fund. An Consulting signed for the Ginza hotel. IHG names the partners separately, and each agreement stands on its own owner.

Noted Collection serves independent properties. Owners who join gain access to IHG's enterprise and commercial platforms and to the IHG One Rewards loyalty program. The Shinjuku hotel keeps its own name and identity inside the collection. Noted Collection launched earlier this year as IHG's 21st brand.

The Wider Pipeline

The Noted Collection pipeline runs beyond Japan. Theobalds Estate, Noted Collection by IHG, is in the United Kingdom. Cantonal Hotel Riyadh Noted Collection by IHG is in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The two Tokyo signings give the brand its entry into Japan through a conversion and a new build in one announcement, inside the brand's launch year.

The Figures the Release Omits

The release states no construction cost for either project. It names no contractor and no architect. It gives the opening years without a month for both hotels. It carries no room rates and no renovation schedule. The two ownership partners are the only companies IHG identifies on the projects.
