Digboi property takes the HHTDN unit award
Yashshree Namdang Premier Hotel & Banquet in Digboi, Tinsukia, Assam, has taken the Best Performing Hospitality Unit award at the HHTDN Award 2026. The presentation took place at a World Tourism Day event at Mayfair Tea Resort, Siliguri.
The citation rests on the property's contribution to the hospitality sector and its performance in the region. The property's team received the award and credited its leadership and employees.
The awarding body
HHTDN is the Himalayan Hospitality & Tourism Development Network. Its membership draws on hoteliers, transporters, tour operators, home stays, guides, adventure sports operators and allied industry members. The network works across Sikkim, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Dooars, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
The network describes its region as the northern Indian states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh, the hill regions of Assam and West Bengal, and Nepal and Bhutan.
HHTDN records its inaugural meeting on 25 September 2018 and its fourth general body meeting on 22 August 2026.
The World Tourism Day setting
World Tourism Day falls on 27 September. The 2026 edition ran under the theme "Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism". HHTDN stages a rally on the day among the events around its award ceremonies.
