Remington Hospitality has appointed Melissa Arana senior vice president of revenue strategy. She oversees revenue strategy across a portfolio of Remington-managed hotels.
Arana partners with operations and sales leadership on the role's instruments. It sets revenue budgets, RevPAR Index targets and negotiated segment strategies. The post also carries the development of the company's revenue strategy leaders.
Twenty years in commercial strategy and analytics
Arana brings more than 20 years of hospitality experience to the role. The announcement places that experience across commercial strategy, revenue management, business intelligence and analytics, built across multi-property hotel portfolios.
She joins Remington from HVMG. Her most recent post there was senior vice president of revenue performance and analytics, where she led revenue, marketing and analytics strategy across the company's hotel portfolio.
Arana spent 15 years at HVMG. She held three commercial leadership roles in that period: vice president of revenue strategy, corporate director of revenue strategy for the Select Brands portfolio, and regional director of revenue management.
The announcement states that she played a key role in evolving HVMG's commercial platform. It describes that work as transforming decision-making through data, technology, forecasting and performance optimization. Her leadership focus is aligning revenue management, sales, marketing and analytics to drive profitable growth and maximize value for hotel owners and stakeholders.
Cory Chambers on data, technology and talent
Cory Chambers, chief commercial officer at Remington Hospitality, gave a statement in the announcement.
"Melissa brings a clear understanding of how data, technology, and talent work together to drive hotel performance," he said. "Her experience leading revenue strategy across large portfolios will support our owners and our continued growth."
Chambers describes the appointment as support for Remington's owners and for the company's continued growth.
Arana on delivering for owners and properties
Arana gave her own statement in the same announcement.
"Remington has built a strong commercial platform, and I look forward to working with the team to deliver results for owners and properties across the portfolio," she said.
Arana holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M International University. The announcement states that she is fluent in English and Spanish.
