CASCADA Bend Breaks Ground on 68 Rooms at 7 NW Bond St, Dated 2028

SolTerra broke ground in July 2026 on CASCADA Bend, a 68-room thermal springs hotel at 7 NW Bond St dated late 2028. Hacker Architects states 120,000 SF; Construction Owners reports 130,000 square feet.

Sixty-eight rooms into Bend by 2028

CASCADA named Bend, Oregon as its second location. The release carries a Bend dateline of 30 July 2026 and states plans to open a 68-room retreat in Bend in 2028.

The brand trades today at CASCADA Thermal Springs + Hotel in Portland. SolTerra, the developer, dates the Bend plans to 2024.

The site and the build

The property takes 7 NW Bond St in downtown Bend. The site sits along Arizona and Colorado avenues and Bond and Wall streets, and it covers nearly an entire city block that sat largely vacant for years.

Excavators began clearing the site in the week of 20 July 2026. The Bulletin reported crews demolished one building on the block that week. An official groundbreaking celebration followed on 28 July 2026.

CASCADA's release names Lease Crutcher Lewis as general contractor. Construction Owners reports 130,000 square feet for the project and dates the opening to 2028. The Bulletin reports construction will take a little more than two years and puts the opening in late 2028.

Two size figures for one building

Hacker Architects, the design firm, states 120,000 SF on its Cascada project page. Construction Owners reports 130,000 square feet for the same project, and Cascade Business News reported 127,000 square feet in July. No page explains the gap between the figures.

Hacker describes the design as a progression from candlelit, cave-like spaces to a series of rooftop pools and a sauna. The architect's notes place a glass conservatory at the rooftop, open-air lounge areas and pools with views west to the Cascade Range, and freestanding structures above the roofline that house hotel suites and spa treatment rooms.

SolTerra's project page lists a timber-and-glass street facade, a rooftop thermal pool, a glass-roofed Conservatory pool hall, a candlelit hall the brand calls the Sanctuary, and guest rooms with fireplaces.

Who builds it and who owns the plan

SolTerra develops the project. The company lists offices in Seattle and Portland and states it has built sustainable, community-oriented buildings since 2008.

The release names Brian Heather and Marc Coluccio as Managing Partners of CASCADA. The Bulletin records Coluccio as SolTerra's Chief Operating Officer. Cascade Business News records both men as chief executives and as CASCADA managing partners.

The Bulletin records the developer as Seattle-based. Cascade Business News records the developer as Portland-based. Both outlets describe one company.

Coluccio told the Bulletin that SolTerra chose Bend after considering other mountain communities. He cited the city's outdoor recreation culture and its sense of community.

The permitting record

Coluccio told the Bulletin that permitting took significantly longer than the company had hoped. He attributed the extended review to the building's structural, mechanical and plumbing systems.

The Bulletin reports the development remains largely consistent with plans first announced in 2024, with minor modifications made during permitting.

What the record leaves open

The release publishes no development cost, no land price and no construction budget. It names the general contractor and carries no architect, no management agreement and no lender.

The release states that additional project details, including the official opening timeline and reservation information, will be released as development progresses. The brand's Bend page carries the address, a 2028 opening and a pre-opening invitation form. It carries no room rate and no bookings date.

CASCADA's own membership page publishes Portland tiers. Balance costs $320 a month with a $500 initiation fee. Restore costs $300 a month with a $500 initiation fee. Align costs $110 a month with a $110 initiation fee. The Bulletin reports a limited number of memberships will be offered in Bend.

The release states the company expects more than 150 permanent jobs once the property opens, in addition to construction jobs.

The platform

CASCADA states it has future locations planned across the United States. SolTerra lists Cascada Bend among its projects in Seattle, Portland and Bend, and dates the Bend opening to 2028. Bend is the brand's second property.
