CityHub signs a 139-Hub Berlin hotel
CityHub announced a Berlin hotel on 29 September 2026. The property takes 139 Hubs to Leipziger Platz, in Berlin Mitte. The works programme targets a fourth-quarter 2027 opening, subject to confirmation.
The count splits into 122 standard Hubs and 17 accessible Hubs. Guest facilities named in the announcement are a sauna, shared bathrooms and social spaces.
Retail space converted into lodging
The conversion covers about 2,100 square metres of existing retail space inside a mixed-use commercial building. CityHub describes the space as a previously vacant part of the property and the method as adaptive reuse.
The project runs with Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Vincent Frommel, head of fund management and debt finance and a member of the firm's German executive board, said a stay at CityHub Copenhagen confirmed the concept from the guest side. He named guest acceptance and value for money in the investment case.
Remco Gerritsen, CityHub's CEO, said the prefabricated Hub concept unlocks existing urban buildings in Europe's busiest cities. He said the format lets the brand join established neighbourhoods.
The numbers a revenue team gets
The announcement states the unit count, the district, the partner and the works programme. It carries no development cost, no per-key figure, no bed rate, no lease term and no management agreement terms.
It states no key count for the existing estate and no performance expectation for the Berlin property.
The estate the Berlin address joins
CityHub trades in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Copenhagen and Reykjavik. A Hamburg development the brand has announced sits alongside that set. Berlin becomes its second German address.
The site sits at a crossroads along the former border between East and West Berlin. Restaurants, cafes, cultural attractions and shopping sit within reach of the address.
