Who Runs FOG 2027: Eleven Committee Names and the Gala Floor

Sydney Blumenkranz directs FOG Design+Art, Douglas Durkin founded FOG FORUM, and the 2027 honorary chairs are the Kriegers and the Montanas. Eleven committee names and the 2,700-guest 2026 gala list sit behind the fair.

The Director and the Fair's Own Line

Sydney Blumenkranz is the director of FOG Design+Art. The fair's announcement of Thursday 15 October 2026 carries her quote: "FOG has always grown alongside the community that shaped it, and this year you can see that growth in the fair itself." She adds: "After receiving more applications than ever before, expanding to the second floor of FOG FOCUS felt like a natural next step. 2027 is our strongest edition to date, and a true celebration of the creative energy that makes San Francisco such a vital home for art and design."

The Honorary Chairs

Kaitlyn and Mike Krieger and Jennifer and Joe Montana hold the 2027 honorary chairs. The same announcement calls them notable members of the Bay Area community with deep dedication to the arts.

Eleven Names Across Three Committees

The fair's About page names three committees. The Steering Committee holds five: Douglas Durkin, Robert J. Fisher, Brittany Pattner, Sarah Wendell Sherrill and Susan Swig. The Exhibitor Selection Committee carries eight, and four of the Steering five sit on it: Douglas Durkin, Brittany Pattner, Sarah Wendell Sherrill and Susan Swig, beside Azzurra Alliata di Montereale, Emma Hanley, Sophia Kinell and Chris Perez. The Advisory Committee holds Stanlee R. Gatti and Katie Paige.

FOG FORUM's Founder and Its Two Museum Champions

Douglas Durkin founded and chairs FOG FORUM, the membership programme the fair runs for design professionals. SFMOMA's Helen Hilton Raiser Curator and Head of Architecture and Design Jennifer Dunlop Fletcher and SFMOMA Curator of Art and Design Joseph Becker champion the programme. The programme recruits from the design trades: architects, landscape architects, interior and industrial designers, and residential contractors.

Who Organises the Talks

Steering Committee member Susan Swig organises the FOG Talks series. The 2027 Talks move to the Cowell Theater inside FOG FOCUS, presented by Bank of America, and the fair's Talks page reads that the 2027 lineup lands in mid-November.

The 2,700 Who Filled the 2026 Gala

The gala's prior edition carries the fair's only published headcount. FOG's release of Thursday 22 January 2026 records more than 2,700 attendees at the 2026 Preview Gala, the highest attendance in the history of the event. Sir Jony Ive and Lady Heather Ive and Tabitha Soren and Michael Lewis held the honorary chairs for that edition. The FOG FOCUS Committee held Azzurra Alliata di Montereale, Matt Farron, Lauren Ford, Emma Hanley, Pamela Hornik, Sophia Kinell and Chris Perez, and the Advisory Committee held Stanlee R. Gatti and Katie Paige.

The same release names the guests. SFMOMA director Christopher Bedford and Mayor Daniel Lurie head the list. The SFMOMA trustees on it are Alka Agrawal, Diana Nelson, Mimi Haas, Komal Shah, Sonya Yu, Wayee Chu, Chuck Collins, Kaitlyn Krieger and Roselyn Swig. Museum and arts leadership includes Soyoung Lee of the Asian Art Museum, Monetta White of the Museum of the African Diaspora, Maria Jenson of SOMArts, Kerry King of the Contemporary Jewish Museum, Veronica Roberts of the Cantor Arts Center, Julie Rodrigues Widholm of BAMPFA, Jason Linetzky of the Anderson Collection, Ali Gass of ICA San Francisco, Mari Robles of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Maria Manetti Shrem and Penny Coulter, the city's Chief of Protocol. Artists on the list include Rodney McMillian, Mildred Howard, Lava Thomas, Trevor Paglen, Masako Miki and JD Beltran, and Zac Posen attends as Executive Vice President and Creative Director of Gap Inc.

Fifteen Galleries on the Floor for the First Time

Fifteen galleries present for the first time in 2027: ATLA, DEN, Dominique Porter Gallery, Fair Warning, Hoffman Donahue, GALERIE 1900-2000, LAMB, Mariposa, Matthew Brown, Moderne Gallery, Parker Gallery, P.P.O.W, Taka Ishii Gallery, Thomas Dane Gallery and VeneKlasen. The announcement puts the FOG Pavilion at 50 exhibitors and FOG FOCUS at 26 curated presentations, inside more than 75 galleries for the edition.

The Published Record of Who Carries the Fair

The release and the fair's About page carry no staff roster, volunteer count, wage or per-diem for fair week. The committees and the named gallery lists stand as the published record of who carries the fair.
