Hilton Signs Ten Spark Hotels in the UK With 672 Rooms

Hilton signed 10 Spark by Hilton hotels across England and Wales with AG Hotels Group, adding 672 rooms that open between late 2026 and 2028.

672 Rooms in a Ten-Hotel Agreement

Hilton signed 10 Spark by Hilton hotels across England and Wales through a strategic agreement with AG Hotels Group. The release is dated 14 September 2026 and carries a London dateline. The ten hotels add 672 rooms and are expected to open between late 2026 and 2028.

The markets are Cardiff, Coventry, Derby, Doncaster, Hull, Peterborough, Runcorn, Sunderland, Wakefield and Washington. Cardiff carries the first Spark by Hilton in Wales. The release calls Derby, Runcorn, Wakefield and Washington new markets for Hilton.

The Counts the Release Prints

The release gives a room count for each of the ten properties. Those ten figures run from 48 at Coventry Walsgrave to 100 at Derby Station and sum to 672, the stated total. The subhead and Paul Blackmore’s quotation both round the same set to “nearly 700 rooms in the pipeline”. Read 672 as the itemised figure.

A second agreement sits in the same release. Hilton signed with SMAR Hotels Ltd for the first Spark by Hilton in Scotland, a 53-room hotel in Dunfermline. The property sits about 17 miles northwest of Edinburgh and takes a comprehensive refurbishment before opening in late 2026, with dining spaces, meeting facilities and guest parking. It stands outside the ten and outside the 672.

What a Booking Team Cannot Price Yet

The release publishes no contract structure for either agreement. It carries no rate, no rate band and no opening date inside the 2026 to 2028 window for any of the ten properties. No conversion cost, no square footage and no headcount appears for any of them. It also gives no count of the hotels AG Hotels Group owns or operates today.

The Conversion Model Behind the Signings

Spark by Hilton launched in 2023. Hilton sells the brand as a conversion route. An existing hotel repositions under the Spark name and takes Hilton’s commercial platform and the Hilton Honors programme. Spark carries over 275 open hotels worldwide and more than 200 properties in its development pipeline.

Hilton’s own company block lists 28 brands, more than 9,400 properties and nearly 1.4 million rooms in 144 countries and territories. Hilton Honors counts more than 260 million members.

Who Spoke for the Deal

Girish Grover, founder and chief executive of AG Hotels Group, said the agreement aligns with the group’s plan to build a scaled hospitality platform and to pair operational capability with global brands. He named further acquisitions, conversions and strategic partnerships as the group’s growth route.

Simon Vincent, president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Hilton, appears in the release’s signing-ceremony caption beside Grover. Blackmore, vice president of development for the UK and Ireland, attributed the signings to owner demand for the brand.
