Preferred's Legend Collection Adds Eleven Properties Across Eight Countries

Preferred Hotels & Resorts added eleven hotels to its Legend Collection during 2026, taking its top luxury tier past 125 properties against a group of more than 625 independent properties in 80 countries.

Preferred Hotels & Resorts added eleven hotels to its Legend Collection during 2026. The group announced the additions on 29 September 2026, and Boutique Hotel News reported the intake on 6 October. Preferred states that the additions take its top luxury tier past 125 properties worldwide, across eight countries.

Preferred describes the Legend Collection as the most demanding tier of its portfolio. The group represents more than 625 independent properties across 80 countries, and member hotels keep their own names and ownership while using the group's reservation network and loyalty programme. The tier passed 100 hotels in June 2024.

The Eleven, Grouped by Market

Europe supplies five of the eleven. Spain accounts for three: BLESS Hotel Barcelona on Passeig de Gràcia, opened in August 2026; BLESS Ibiza The Site, opened in June 2026; and Serras Sevilla, opened in September 2026. San Clemente Palace Venice occupies a private eight-hectare island in the Venetian Lagoon. MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites sits in a restored Pombaline building in Lisbon's Baixa district and opened in December 2025.

Asia adds two. Dusit Thani Bangkok joins as a trading hotel with more than seven decades of Thai hospitality at the address. The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary opened in July 2026 across 76 acres of forest in the Western Ghats near Madikeri, India, on a former coffee plantation.

North America adds two. Edgewood Tahoe Resort stands on the Nevada shore of Lake Tahoe at Stateline and holds LEED Silver certification. The Cooper opened in March 2026 on the Charleston riverfront peninsula in South Carolina, with a marina, a spa and an infinity pool.

Africa and the Middle East supply one addition each. Palais Jamaï Fès occupies a restored late 19th-century palace overlooking the medina of Fès in Morocco, with an October 2026 relaunch. Wynn Al Marjan Island is scheduled for spring 2027 in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

Eight of the Eleven Carry an Opening Date

Eight additions carry a published opening date: BLESS Hotel Barcelona, BLESS Ibiza The Site, MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites, Palais Jamaï Fès, Serras Sevilla, The Cooper, The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary and Wynn Al Marjan Island. Three join with no launch date attached: Dusit Thani Bangkok, Edgewood Tahoe Resort and San Clemente Palace Venice.

The dated entries run from December 2025 to spring 2027. MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites opened in December 2025, and Preferred counts it among the 2026 intake.

Room Counts and the One Project Still to Build

Wynn Al Marjan Island is the single addition the announcement sizes. Preferred describes a 70-storey tower with more than 1,500 accommodations, more than 20 dining venues, a beach club, a private marina, gardens and pools. The group states that the project will bring a fully integrated resort to the United Arab Emirates for the first time.

Third-party listings carry room counts for ten of the eleven. San Clemente Palace Venice lists 196 rooms, suites and residences. BLESS Hotel Barcelona lists 119 rooms, MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites 48, Serras Sevilla 43, Palais Jamaï Fès 94, Dusit Thani Bangkok 257, The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary 71 villas, Edgewood Tahoe Resort 154, The Cooper 191, and Wynn Al Marjan Island more than 1,500. BLESS Ibiza The Site publishes no count.

What the Intake Says About Independent Luxury

Lindsey Ueberroth, chief executive of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, said the additions reflect guests who seek nature, cultural heritage, gastronomy and a personal reading of an iconic city. She said the group's members carry "the distinctive character that makes each of them a legendary hotel".

The intake mixes trading hotels with two projects that had not opened at the point of announcement, and it carries properties across five regions. Preferred states no ownership terms for the additions and publishes no inventory figure for the collection as a whole.

The Legend Collection now stands above 125 properties, against a group Preferred puts at more than 625 independent properties across 80 countries.
