The Two Nights And The Clock They Run On
The IHSAA 2026-27 calendar dates the boys swimming and diving state finals to Friday 26 and Saturday 27 February 2027 at the IU Natatorium, 901 W. New York St., Indianapolis. The association's 2026-27 tournament page returns its 404 body, so the 2027 session clock is unpublished.
The 2026 edition carries the clock the stay pattern follows. Friday 27 February 2026 opened its gates at 4:30 p.m. ET, with swimming preliminaries at 6 p.m. ET. Saturday 28 February 2026 ran diving preliminaries and semifinals at 9 a.m. ET and the championship and consolation finals at 1 p.m. ET.
Two sessions set the stay. A party that attends the Friday preliminaries books the Friday night. A party that stays for the Saturday finals adds the Saturday night.
The Two Deadlines That Bracket The Window
The association's 2026-27 Seasons at a Glance table carries a column headed In-Season Roster Deadline. The boys swimming and diving row sets that date at 20 November 2026, a Friday. First practice opens 9 November. The first contest follows on 23 November, three days after the roster deadline.
The same row sets the Entry List Deadline at 11 February 2027, a Thursday. That date sits 15 days before the first session and seven days before the first sectional on 18 February.
Those two dates bracket the booking window. The season's school parties are fixed in November. The final entries land in February. The group cut-off and the release date sit between the two.
The Month The Nights Land In
Engine publishes $128 per night for Indianapolis across 1.2 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. February averages $107, the lowest of the twelve months and 16 percent below the city figure. The page reports its rates observed in searches made 10 to 180 days before check-in.
A booking taken in November for a February stay sits at the far end of that observation window. The boys finals are the fourth of the four February 2027 bookings on the venue's own event list, stamped updated 9/2/2026.
The Ceiling The Venue Publishes
The Natatorium seats 4,700 and calls itself the largest indoor aquatic facility in the United States. Over 100,000 competitive swimmers and fans attend annually. The venue publishes the seat count, and the association publishes the dates and the two deadlines.
