Minor Hotels names a general manager for Avani+ Luang Prabang
Minor Hotels has appointed Patrick Manthe general manager of Avani+ Luang Prabang. The hotel holds 53 rooms and sits inside Luang Prabang's UNESCO World Heritage town, opposite the night market.
Manthe is a Swiss national. Minor Hotels states that he brings more than 25 years of international hospitality experience across Asia, Europe and Australia.
The brief for the role
The appointment covers hotel operations, commercial performance and team development. Minor Hotels states that Manthe's focus includes guest experiences that reflect the town's culture and traditions.
The release gives no effective date and names no predecessor. It states no team size and no commercial target for the coming year.
The career behind the appointment
Manthe joins from Amari Pattaya in Thailand, where he was general manager. His responsibilities there covered resort operations, commercial strategy and the development of the resort's dining and guest experiences.
He previously held general manager posts at Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan and Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay in the Philippines. At Crimson Boracay he led the resort's reopening, and revenue and gross operating profit reached record levels in 2022. He introduced art and cultural experiences into that resort's guest offering.
He spent four years as general manager of Chatrium Hotel & Residence Riverside Bangkok. Earlier posts include pre-opening leadership for U Sathorn Bangkok, hotel manager at Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn Bangkok and general manager of Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi. Before those appointments he held senior food and beverage positions with Conrad and Hilton.
Education and languages
Minor Hotels places Manthe's Higher Diploma in Hotel Management at the Swiss School of Hotel and Tourism Management. A 2016 appointment release from Chatrium Hotels & Residences names the institution as EHL Hotel School Passugg, class of 2000.
Manthe speaks German and English, with conversational French.
Manthe on the appointment
"Luang Prabang is a destination where the character of the place is central to the guest experience," Manthe said. "I look forward to working with the team to build on the hotel's connection to the town and its community."
He said his priority is to support the team in delivering personal service and to help guests discover the local food, culture and everyday traditions that make a stay memorable.

Avani+ Luang Prabang sits in the old town, opposite the night market, among temples, boutiques and local cafés. The hotel runs experiences on the Mekong River.
It is one of two Avani hotels in Laos. Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane holds 197 rooms and opened in July 2026.
