Choice buys Harvest Hosts for about $130 million
Choice Hotels International has agreed to acquire Harvest Hosts, a community-oriented RV travel membership company, from Stripes and other shareholders. The all-cash transaction carries an enterprise value of approximately $130 million. The company announced the agreement on 30 September 2026.
Choice will fund the purchase with cash on hand and borrowings under its existing revolving credit facility. It states the deal is not expected to have a material effect on its 2026 financial results and does not change its previously communicated 2026 share repurchase expectations. The transaction is expected to close on 1 October 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
The network Choice is buying
Harvest Hosts connects RV travellers with overnight stays at more than 11,200 host locations, including wineries, farms, breweries, museums and other attractions. Choice describes it as the largest private RV camping network in North America. Harvest Hosts will operate as a standalone business under its existing brand, and Joel Holland continues as chief executive officer. The full Harvest Hosts team becomes Choice employees on close.
Choice's release names four businesses beside the core membership: Escapees RV Club, Boondockers Welcome, CampScanner and Brit Stops.
Harvest Hosts publishes its own numbers: 9,500-plus hosts across 49 US states and 10 Canadian provinces, and a community of 500,000 RVers. Its plans page lists Classic at $99 a year, Harvest Hosts plus Boondockers Welcome at $169, and All Access at $179, which includes Escapees RV Club membership at a stated value of $49.95.
Choice's rationale
"Choice Hotels has a long history of delivering quality travel experiences for value-minded consumers, and our acquisition of Harvest Hosts extends that reach into an attractive segment of the outdoor travel market," said Dom Dragisich, president and chief executive officer of Choice Hotels International. "Together we offer even more stay options for both of our companies' guests."
Choice states its research shows Choice Privileges members over-index among RV travellers, and describes Harvest Hosts as complementary to its hotel portfolio and consistent with its asset-light strategy.
The seller
Stripes, described by Choice as a New York-based growth equity firm, invested in Harvest Hosts in 2021. "At Stripes, we believe the best businesses start with amazing products that customers genuinely love, and Harvest Hosts is a great example of that," said Chris Carey, partner at Stripes.
Jefferies LLC is exclusive financial adviser to Harvest Hosts, Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP is legal counsel to Harvest Hosts, and Choice is advised by ArentFox Schiff LLP.
Choice's own scale
Choice Hotels International trades on the New York Stock Exchange as CHH. Its release states a portfolio of more than 7,500 hotels, more than 650,000 rooms, 49 countries and territories, and 22 brands.
