My Place relaunches Trend by My Place
My Place Hotels of America relaunched its conversion brand, Trend by My Place, at its 2026 convention in Miami. The relaunch gives independent owners a three-tier platform and one commercial platform behind it.
Eloise Hanson reported the relaunch for Serviced Apartment News on 28 September 2026. The convention ran at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa in Aventura, Florida.
The three tiers
Each tier takes a separate segment. Trend Hotels takes owners of select-service properties. Trend Hotels & Suites takes owners of transient and extended-stay properties. Trend Inns & Suites takes owners of upper economy and midscale properties.
The brand's own franchise page numbers the tiers. It sets Trend Hotels & Suites as Tier 1, the premium extended-stay product; Trend Hotels as Tier 2, modern mainstream select-service; and Trend Inns & Suites as Tier 3, economy and midscale product below the Upper Midscale line. All three tiers take conversion candidates, so an owner keeps the building and takes on the brand.
The commercial platform
Franchisees take the My Place commercial platform. The bundle covers standards administration, product and program development, training and quality assurance, central reservations, systems and technology, national sales, business revenue intelligence, and marketing and design services.
Every conversion carries a Property Improvement Plan calibrated to the source brand and the asset's condition. The plan's scope changes by competitor. The operating platform does not change by tier. The brand page calls its technology ecosystem a core element of every conversion.
Stay Rewarded
Franchisees also join My Place's loyalty programme, Stay Rewarded.
Rivett on the owner
Ryan Rivett, president and CEO of My Place Hotels of America, framed the brand around the owner. “We built Trend for the owner who has spent years growing a property and does not want to hand it over to a brand that treats it like a template,” he said. “The best franchise relationships protect what an owner has already earned and add real value. That is the standard we set for ourselves with Trend, and it is the standard we will hold ourselves to as we grow this brand.”
Quinn on the support work
Brian Quinn, chief development officer, described the support the brand runs. “When we talked to owners about what they were looking for, the through line was clear: they wanted a franchise partner that actually understood their business,” he said. “That's what separates Trend. Most franchisors sell marketing platforms. We sell a support system that runs across renovation, operations, and franchise services because we do all of it ourselves. Every Trend franchisee gets the benefit of that.”
The 2020 launch and the pause
Trend by My Place dates to June 2020. The company paused the launch as the Covid-19 pandemic took hold, and the senior team turned to core operations. The relaunch brings the brand back to market with the tier structure in place.
