Choice Hotels International opened six upscale properties on 29 September 2026 across its Cambria Hotels and Ascend Collection brands. Two sit under Cambria. Four sit under Ascend Collection. The company states its upscale portfolio holds more than 300 hotels open across the United States and nearly 150 properties in the pipeline.
The six openings by brand and market
Cambria Hotel Colorado Springs - Air Force Academy opened in Colorado. Cambria Hotel Jacksonville opened in Florida. Caretta Landing Sarasota and Coral Pointe Sarasota are Ascend Collection hotels on Florida's Gulf Coast. Sun Lodge, an Ascend Collection Hotel, sits in Peru, Vermont. Fairway Inn and Suites, an Ascend Collection Hotel, is in Mishicot, Wisconsin.
The six sit across four states: Colorado, Florida, Vermont and Wisconsin.
The portfolio counts
The upscale portfolio reaches more than 300 hotels open across the United States, and nearly 150 properties sit in the pipeline.
Five upscale brands carry that count. They are Cambria Hotels, Ascend Collection, Radisson, Radisson Blu and Radisson Individuals.
Choice describes Ascend Collection as the industry's first and largest soft brand. The company states the brand passed its 500th hotel opening earlier this year, and that more than 500 Ascend Collection properties are open worldwide. Cambria runs more than 75 hotels open, including sites in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Nashville and Phoenix.
The keys and the meeting space
The release gives key counts for five of the six properties. Cambria Hotel Colorado Springs - Air Force Academy has 97 guestrooms and suites. Coral Pointe Sarasota has 107 guestrooms and apartment-style suites. Caretta Landing Sarasota has 86 guestrooms. Fairway Inn and Suites has 102 newly renovated guestrooms. Sun Lodge has 50 guestrooms.
Those five counts sum to 442 keys. The release states no key count for Cambria Hotel Jacksonville.
The release also states meeting-space inventory for four of the six. Fairway Inn and Suites carries nearly 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Sun Lodge carries nearly 800 square feet of flexible event space. Cambria Hotel Colorado Springs - Air Force Academy carries 286 square feet. The Sarasota pair carries nearly 1,100 square feet of combined meeting space.
Florida carries three of the six
Florida carries Cambria Hotel Jacksonville, Caretta Landing Sarasota and Coral Pointe Sarasota. Colorado, Vermont and Wisconsin carry one each.
Florida also carries the largest stated key count in the group. The two Sarasota hotels account for 193 keys between them.
Two of the six sit in the Sarasota market. The pair shares an outdoor resort-style pool, complimentary hot breakfast, a fitness center and nearly 1,100 square feet of combined meeting space. Coral Pointe carries the larger key count of the two.
The developer demand statement
"We're seeing strong interest from owners and developers who recognize the strength of our upscale platform and the growth potential of our brands," said Mark Shalala, senior vice president, development, upscale brands, Choice Hotels International.
Shalala states the company works to help owners succeed and to meet traveler demand for upscale accommodations.
The platform behind the openings
The upscale brands participate in Choice Privileges, the company's loyalty program. The release states members can earn and redeem points for reward nights at Cambria hotels and at more than 7,000 properties across the group's brands in 46 countries and territories.
Choice describes itself as a lodging franchisor with more than 7,500 hotels, more than 650,000 rooms, 49 countries and territories, and 22 brands. It trades on the New York Stock Exchange under CHH.
Choice gives no delivery schedule for the nearly 150 pipeline properties.
