Two Hundred Open Hotels
IHG Hotels & Resorts reported the 200th open Hotel Indigo hotel in a release dated 5 October 2026 with a London dateline. The release states 200 open hotels, a pipeline of 134 properties and a presence in more than 30 countries, and footnotes the figures as at 30 June 2026.
The brand launched in 2004 and stood at 100 open hotels in 2019, on IHG's own count. The release names no 200th property.
The Recent Openings and Signings by Region
IHG names three country debuts in the two years to the release. Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman opened in the Caribbean, Hotel Indigo Albufeira in Portugal and Hotel Indigo Lima Miraflores in Peru.
In the Americas, the release reports a first property in Turks & Caicos, Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos Grace Bay, recent openings at Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortes and Hotel Indigo Tijuana Downtown in Mexico and Hotel Indigo Raleigh in North Carolina, and Hotel Indigo Guanacaste in Costa Rica as a key signing.
Europe, Middle East, Asia & Africa openings in the release are Hotel Indigo Bangkok Thonglor in Thailand, Hotel Indigo Gloucester - The Forum and Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd's Bush in the United Kingdom. Signings there cover Hotel Indigo Phuket Nai Yang Beach in Thailand and a first Hotel Indigo in Egypt, which IHG states will carry the brand's first branded residences. Hotel Indigo Riyadh Al Olaya opens next year and marks the brand's debut in Saudi Arabia.
In Greater China, Hotel Indigo Ningbo has opened. IHG lists Hotel Indigo Chongqing Chaotianmen and Hotel Indigo Jingdezhen Taoxichuan as upcoming openings.
The release gives no room count for the named properties and breaks the pipeline down by no region.
The Gloucester Opening in the Council's Numbers
Gloucester City Council published its own account of the Gloucester opening on 20 March 2026. That account records 129 rooms inside The Forum, a GBP 107 million development the council brought forward with Reef + Partners, more than 1,000 bookings recorded before the opening date of 24 March 2026, and a rooftop bar with two named venues.
Two Count Sets on One As-At Date
IHG's Hotel Indigo brand page and its development page both read 198 open hotels, 26,726 open rooms, 134 pipeline hotels and 21,526 pipeline rooms, with data as per 30 June 2026. The development page states a presence in more than 20 countries. The 5 October release states 200 open hotels and more than 30 countries on the same as-at date.
The Targets IHG Set
The release of 22 January 2019, marking the brand's 100th property at Hotel Indigo Berlin East Side Gallery, set a doubling target of three to five years. The release of 12 December 2022, when IHG reported 135 open Hotel Indigo hotels and a pipeline of 124 properties, set a target of more than 200 open hotels within three years. The 5 October 2026 release reports the 200th opening.
