Indian Hotels Company announced the signing of a Gateway hotel in Lucknow on 15 October 2026. The property carries 215 keys. The project is greenfield, and the site sits in Gomti Nagar. Kripanidhi Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. is the partner named in the announcement.
What the signing covers
The hotel will carry the Gateway brand. The announcement gives the key count, the district and the partner. It gives no opening date, no investment value and no room mix.
Lucknow is the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The announcement cites the city's heritage, its architectural landmarks and its culinary traditions as part of the case for the site.
The partner
Varun Gavri, director of Kripanidhi Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., said: "We are pleased to partner with IHCL and bring the Gateway brand to the city. With its strategic location and the strength of IHCL's hospitality expertise, the hotel will serve the evolving needs of travellers."
The announcement states no equity split, no landholding detail and no development cost.
What the hotel will carry
The food and beverage programme runs to an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant and a bar. The wellness floor holds a spa, a gym and a swimming pool.
Group space spans more than 8,000 square feet of banqueting, with pre-function areas and conference facilities alongside it. Across 215 keys, that floor works out at roughly 37 square feet per key.
IHCL describes the banqueting and conference floor as designed for business and social gatherings.
The site
Gomti Nagar is the district named in the announcement. The release gives no plot size, no land area and no distance to the airport, and IHCL describes the project as greenfield.
The district already carries an IHCL flag. IHCL opened the 181-key Taj Palace, Lucknow in Gomti Nagar in August 2026. The Gateway signing adds a second brand to the same part of the city, and the two announced counts put 396 rooms in Gomti Nagar.
The city case
Suma Venkatesh, executive vice president for real estate and development at IHCL, said: "Lucknow continues to witness steady growth driven by infrastructure development and expanding business activity. This signing strengthens IHCL's presence in one of North India's key commercial and administrative centres. We are delighted to partner with Kripanidhi Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. for this project."
The Uttar Pradesh count
IHCL states that the addition leaves it with 64 hotels in Uttar Pradesh, 27 of them under development. Those 27 work out at about 42 per cent of the state portfolio, and 37 of the 64 fall outside the development count.
The company published the same pair of figures for its Agra signing eight days earlier, on 7 October 2026. Two signings eight days apart each leave the state total at 64.
The Lucknow hotel is the third Gateway signing of the month. IHCL announced a 122-key Gateway in Alwar, Rajasthan, on 6 October and a 232-key Gateway in Agra on 7 October. The three announcements carry 569 Gateway keys on their stated room counts.
What IHCL did not publish
IHCL published no opening year and no signing value. The release states no fee, no contract length and no performance test. It also publishes no key count behind the 27-hotel development pipeline, so the 215 keys cannot be measured against that construction set.
For a revenue team tracking Lucknow supply, the signing adds 215 branded keys to the district with no published opening year to place them.
