IHG Signs 101-Key Holiday Inn Resort in Luang Prabang

IHG has signed the 101-key Holiday Inn Resort Luang Prabang Naluang Hill with Naluang International Resort and Hotel Limited. The resort opens in 2027 and lifts IHG's Laos count to three hotels.

IHG signed Holiday Inn Resort Luang Prabang Naluang Hill with Naluang International Resort and Hotel Limited on 19 October 2026. The resort carries 101 keys and opens in 2027.

The property gives the Holiday Inn Resort brand its first address in Luang Prabang. IHG runs two hotels in Vientiane, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn & Suites, at 471 keys across the two brands. The signing takes the Laos count to three hotels in two cities.

What the owner buys

Chen Yichao, a director at Naluang International Resort and Hotel Limited, named the distribution network in his statement. "With its globally recognised brand, extensive distribution network and deep expertise in hospitality, IHG is the ideal partner to unlock the full potential of this exceptional property," he said.

He described the property as one of the few internationally branded resorts in Luang Prabang.

The room and meeting product

The 101 keys divide into guestrooms, suites and villas. The resort lists four food and beverage venues, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a spa and more than 500 square metres of meeting space. IHG ties that space to small and medium-sized events and retreats.

Holiday Inn Resort brings the Kids Stay & Eat Free programme to the property. The release names the family offer inside the resort proposition.

The demand the company cites

Shi'ai Liang, IHG senior director of development for South East Asia and Korea, put the case on regional leisure demand. "As demand for quality leisure travel experiences continues to grow across the region, we see significant opportunities in destinations that offer authentic cultural connections alongside exceptional hospitality," she said.

She named the group segment in the same statement. "Beyond its strong leisure appeal, Luang Prabang is also benefiting from improving connectivity and growing demand for meetings, incentives and corporate retreats," she said.

Liang placed the brand inside the destination's supply as well. "Our partnership with Naluang International Resort and Hotel Limited will introduce one of the most trusted and globally recognised hotel brands to Luang Prabang and support its continued growth as a leading leisure and meetings hub in Laos," she said.

The site and the access

The resort sits on Naluang Hill, inside reach of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ancient Town. The release lists Mount Phousi, Kuang Si Falls, Pak Ou Caves and Mekong River experiences as the attractions guests reach from the property.

Luang Prabang International Airport and high-speed rail links carry the connectivity argument in the same document.

What the signing fixes

The opening year is 2027, with no month in the release. The agreement is described as a partnership. The document carries no investment value, fee, term or ownership split, and no room-type breakdown beyond the 101 keys.
