Marriott signs two hotels at Khao Lak's Matalay

Marriott International signed with KS Hotels and Resorts for two properties at Matalay on Thailand's Khao Lak coast. Moxy Khao Lak Memories Beach takes 160 rooms and the Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy property takes 60 two-bedroom apartments, and the report carries no opening date.

Two Marriott signings on the Khao Lak coast

Marriott International signed an agreement with KS Hotels and Resorts for two properties at Matalay, a 200-hectare development on Thailand's Khao Lak coast. TTG Asia reported the signing on 9 October 2026. Moxy Khao Lak Memories Beach and Matalay Khao Lak, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy both sit at Memories Beach, at the northern end of the development.

The room counts and the apartment specification

Moxy Khao Lak Memories Beach is planned with 160 rooms around a pool. Matalay Khao Lak, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy carries 60 two-bedroom apartments, each measuring 110 square metres with a kitchen and a washer-dryer.

The apartments target families, digital nomads and longer stays.

Two brand firsts

Moxy Khao Lak Memories Beach would be the Moxy brand's first property in southern Thailand. Matalay Khao Lak would be the Thailand debut of Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy.

Beachfront and the track to JW Marriott Khao Lak

Matalay carries 1.4 km of beachfront. A 3 km jogging and cycling track runs through forests and around lakes, and it connects the development to the existing JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa.

The access line through Phuket

Both properties sit about 75 minutes by road from Phuket International Airport.

The facilities at each property

Moxy Khao Lak Memories Beach is planned with a restaurant, pool and beach bars, a gym and a beachfront events lawn. The Apartments property adds a kitchen and laundry fittings to each unit.

Activities around the two hotels

The activity list at Matalay covers surfing, kayaking and wellness programmes.

What the report does not publish

The agreement carries no opening date. Every timing line reads as prospective: will be, is expected, planned. The report carries no investment value, no ownership split, no management terms, no fee structure and no construction start.
