The Real Deal Miami Real Estate Forum opens Wednesday 4 November with a 9 a.m. breakfast door and a 9.30 a.m. discussion in Mana 320, a space the organiser places directly across the parking lot from the Convention Center. The expo floor opens at 10 a.m. The session is the one slot on the two-day grid built around hiring.
The question on the table
The Day 1 session is titled "The Team Builder's Dilemma: Scaling a Real Estate Business at the Expense of Your Own". The organiser's description frames the move from producer to owner and asks how a firm builds an organisation that lasts. It names three tasks for the panel: recruit and retain top talent, put scalable systems in place, and run the leadership strategies that hold a market position. It closes on succession, with a business that outlasts any single deal or agent.
Three mechanics sit in that brief. Who gets hired. Whether hiring continues when the founder leaves the room. What the operation does when one producer walks. The published description carries no line on deal flow, pipeline or market share.
Four names
Hannah Kramer, The Real Deal, Director of News Operations & Content Strategy. Nelson Gonzalez, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices EWM Realty, Senior Vice President. Danny Hertzberg, The Jills Zeder Group, Founding Member. Julia Spillman, EklundGomes Team, CEO.
Kramer is the only one of the four listed with The Real Deal. The breakfast page attaches no moderator label to any of them, and the speakers page lists Kramer under a separate Moderators heading with no session attached.
What the $100 buys
Breakfast access is included with an All-Access pass. General Admission, VIP and Subscriber holders pay $100 a day, bought day by day. The organiser sells the slot on its position in the morning, with priority access to the discussion before the floor opens.
A general manager weighing the add-on gets a 9.30 a.m. discussion on recruitment, retention and systems, 30 minutes before the expo floor opens.
Day 2 runs the same clock
The second breakfast opens at 9 a.m. and starts at 9.30 a.m. on Thursday 5 November in the same room. Its subject is "Keeping It in the Family: The Next Generation of South Florida Real Estate", with Simon Ziff, President of Ackman-Ziff; Harrison Soffer, Principal at Turnberry; Diego Torrealba, Managing Partner at MG Developer; and Lucia Ojeda, Director of Property Management at Rilea Group. A buyer who wants both mornings pays the $100 twice.
What the organiser does not publish
No attendance figure for either breakfast. No capacity for Mana 320. No session end time. No turnover, tenure, wage or recruitment-cost data anywhere on the forum site, so no hotel staffing benchmark comes out of this source. The 6,000-plus figure on the home page covers the two-day forum total.
The other operational slots
Two Innovation Stage sessions speak to property operations. Day 1 at 12.30 p.m., Cyrus Claffey, founder of ButterflyMx, presents on five AI workflows for property teams. Day 2 at 1 p.m., Spillman returns alongside Kobi Karp, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos and Julian Buckner for "Designing Desire: The New Art of Luxury Real Estate".
Spillman is the only one of the four Day 1 panelists with a second published slot.
