&Beyond to rebuild Xaranna as a nine-suite Delta lodge

&Beyond will rebuild Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp and reopen it in August 2027 as a nine-suite lodge inside a 90,500-hectare concession in Botswana's Okavango Delta.

Xaranna reopens as a nine-suite lodge in August 2027

&Beyond will rebuild Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp and reopen it in August 2027 as &Beyond Xaranna Okavango Delta Lodge. The operator dated its own announcement 9 October 2026.

The lodge sits inside a 90,500-hectare concession in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, an area the operator puts at 223,630 acres. The concession covers a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The inventory coming back into the Delta

The rebuilt lodge holds nine suites of 160 square metres each. Every suite carries a personal bar, a two-way fireplace, a private pool, a shaded sala and outdoor seating. Nine suites at that size give 1,440 square metres of suite space.

A new two-bedroom Family Suite measures 404 square metres. Interleading passageways link two of the suites to a central lounge and a shared deck. The operator states the configuration keeps the flexibility to sell the two suites separately.

The operator’s own lodge page carries the reopening stamp and the lodge name. The property is one of five Botswana pages on the operator’s lodge sitemap.

What the rebuild adds on the ground

A dedicated wellness centre introduces Healing Earth treatments, a bespoke apothecary, a hammam, Rasul therapy, a treatment tower, rain and Vichy showers, an outdoor hot tub and a hydrotherapy deck.

A separate fitness and wellbeing area carries Technogym equipment, a cold plunge pool, a relaxation deck overlooking the wetlands and Kneipp Therapy.

LIFE Interiors Architecture Strategic Design holds the design commission. The operator describes the scheme as drawing on the Delta’s changing relationship between land and water, Botswana’s weaving traditions and the linear forms of reeds.

The main guest area brings lounge, dining and creative space together around the Setswana tradition of gathering. The plan adds indoor and outdoor dining, an interactive kitchen, an al forno oven, a traditional boma, a library, a wine bodega and a stargazing nest above the floodplains.

Children, activities and the forward window

The lodge will take children of all ages under the operator’s WILDchild programme. Guests aged six to 11 may join shared game drives at the Lodge Manager’s discretion. Guests aged 12 and older may add seasonal motorised boat cruises. Guided walking safaris and seasonal mokoro excursions open at 16.

Twice-daily game drives, guided walking safaris, seasonal mokoro journeys, motorised boat cruises and community experiences sit in the standard offer. Private safaris and scenic helicopter flights carry an additional cost.

The Botswana portfolio the lodge rejoins

Jason King, managing director of &Beyond Southern Africa Lodges, placed the rebuild inside a wider circuit. He named Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge, Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp and the Under Canvas camps as the properties Xaranna will sit alongside.

The operator’s own lodge sitemap lists 31 lodges, camps and yachts across its destinations. Five of those pages fall on its Botswana path: Xaranna, Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp, Chobe Under Canvas, Sandibe and Nxabega Under Canvas, and Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge.

Its Botswana destination page names nine regions the operator sells: the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Moremi Game Reserve, the Makgadikgadi Pans, Linyanti, Savute, Nxai Pan National Park and Mashatu Game Reserve.

The operator counts approximately 450 recorded bird species on the concession.

What the change means for Delta supply

The rebuild converts the camp into a lodge of nine suites. A revenue desk working the concession has 1,440 square metres of sellable suite space, plus one Family Suite that sells as two units or as one.

The operator published the rebuild on 9 October 2026. The ATTA content library carried the full release text on 15 October 2026, and Travel Daily carried the item on 16 October 2026.

&Beyond’s Botswana path keeps the same five property pages after the rebuild. The reopened lodge returns to that list in August 2027.
