Nancy Johns leads commercial strategy across Spire's portfolio

Spire Hospitality named Nancy Johns senior vice president of commercial strategy on 7 October 2026, placing one leader over commercial strategy across the operator's hotels.

One leader over Spire's commercial strategy

Spire Hospitality named Nancy Johns senior vice president of commercial strategy. The Irving, Texas management company announced the appointment on 7 October 2026. Johns leads commercial strategy across the operator's hotels.

Spire states that Johns will integrate artificial intelligence into commercial decision-making to improve speed and precision. The announcement names no system, no vendor and no measure behind that work.

Sandoval on where the returns sit

Richard Sandoval, Spire's chief executive officer, ties the seat to owner returns. "Nancy has the experience and collaborative approach to turn a more integrated commercial strategy into stronger returns across the portfolio," he said. "Growing revenue is only part of the equation. The real goal is stronger hotel performance, and I'm confident Nancy will help our teams make smarter commercial decisions every day."

Johns on the property-level decision

Johns points to alignment with operations and finance in the announcement. "The hotels that win are the ones where those teams move together and stay aligned with operations, finance, and the property teams making decisions every day," she said.

Two decades across operators

The announcement credits Johns with more than two decades of hospitality commercial leadership. The record it gives runs across revenue management, marketing, digital strategy, distribution and technology. She was most recently a marketing executive at JC Resorts, where she led marketing strategy across the company's luxury resort portfolio, including Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach and Rancho Bernardo Inn. Before JC Resorts she spent nearly six years as senior vice president of integrated marketing and digital solutions at Crescent Hotels & Resorts.

The board seat and the award year

The announcement states that Johns chairs the HSMAI Americas Marketing Advisory Board. It records one of HSMAI's Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality Sales, Marketing & Revenue Optimization awards in 2025.

The company behind the appointment

Spire describes itself as an owner-centric hotel management company. Its portfolio holds independent hotels and properties under Marriott, Hilton and IHG brands.
