The assignment joins Concord’s North Carolina book
Concord Hospitality has taken seven hotels and 711 rooms into management for Poteat Hotels. The portfolio sits in New Bern, Greenville, Wilmington, Boone and High Point. Concord announced the mandate from Raleigh.
The operator frames the intake as a deepening of its position in its home state. Concord states that the move strengthens a footprint across the Southeast.
An operator managing hotels since 1985
Concord Hospitality Enterprises Company dates to 1985. Mark G. Laport, the company’s president and chief executive officer, founded it. The operator’s about page states that the company has spent three decades working with owners and investors on more than $2.5 billion in properties across the United States and Canada.
The same page records approved operator status with Marriott International, Hilton, Hyatt, Choice Hotels International and IHG. Concord describes its management book as spanning full-service and upscale select-service properties.
Ownership stays with the Poteat family
The Poteat family keeps the seven hotels. The release describes an assumption of management over the Poteat Hotels portfolio, and ownership of the buildings sits outside that mandate.
Reg Poteat, chief executive and founder of Poteat Hotels, said the family had been awarded National Hotel of the Year on several occasions over the last decade and held six Conrad Awards from Hilton. He said Poteat chose Concord from among the management companies for its capacity to continue the family legacy.
The brand relationships behind the seven hotels
The seven hotels trade under Courtyard, Aloft, Best Western and Hampton Inn brands. Concord’s approved operator status names Marriott International, Hilton, Hyatt, Choice Hotels International and IHG.
Raleigh as the operator’s home base
Concord is headquartered at 11410 Common Oaks Drive, Raleigh, North Carolina. The operator lists (919) 455-2900 and (919) 455-2909 on its contact line.
Its own portfolio page lists properties across the country, from the Beaufort Hotel in Beaufort and the AC Hotel Raleigh North Hills in North Carolina to Canopy Washington DC at The Wharf, the Hyatt Centric Brickell Miami and the Dorian in Calgary. The page publishes no portfolio total.
The bench behind the management contracts
Concord’s leadership page lists Mark Laport as president and chief executive officer, Will Loughran as chief operating officer and Julie Richter as chief financial officer. Loughran signed the statement on the Poteat assignment. The operator’s news page records his appointment as chief operating officer effective 22 April.
Loughran said Concord is excited to partner with the Poteat family and welcome the seven properties to its growing North Carolina portfolio. He described Concord as a North Carolina-based company with a deep understanding of the communities and markets where these hotels operate.
Concord’s own published counts
The operator’s news page carries no item on the Poteat assignment. Its own items describe Concord as operating over 140 hotels at one point and over 150 at another across North America.
The about page carries the founding year, the announced capital figure and the brand relationships. Neither page publishes a current portfolio total.
Growth the company describes without terms
The announcement states no management fee, no contract term and no purchase price. The transition runs through October 2026. The Best Western Wilmington transferred on 1 October, and the Courtyard Boone, the Hampton Inn Boone and the Courtyard High Point on 12 October.
The release does not name the operator that held the contracts before October.
