Two Resorts, One Culinary Team
Six Senses La Sagesse and InterContinental Grenada Resort & Spa named James Adams as Executive Chef and Oswaldo Rico Rodríguez as Director of Food and Beverage. The release carries a La Sagesse, Grenada dateline of 17 September 2026. Both roles cover both properties.
The two properties sit on La Sagesse Bay on Grenada's southeastern coast. Six Senses La Sagesse opened in April 2024. InterContinental Grenada is pre-opening.
One culinary lead and one food and beverage lead now carry the dining programme of an open resort and a property preparing to open. George Vlachopoulos, Area General Manager, said the pair's expertise in culinary innovation, operational leadership and concept development will matter as the dining at Six Senses La Sagesse evolves and the second property prepares to open.
What the Two Appointees Bring
Adams arrives with more than 22 years in kitchens. The release records earlier leadership positions with Paramount Hotels, Fairmont, Jumeirah Group, Shangri-La, Rosewood and The Ritz-Carlton.
His most recent post was Executive Chef with Paramount Hotel Group in Dubai. There he led the culinary pre-opening of the Paramount Midtown Hotel, ran a brigade across seven outlets, and held menu creation, concept development, talent acquisition, training and operational rollout. He also supported two further Dubai pre-openings.
Rico Rodríguez brings more than 15 years across the Maldives, the Middle East, the Caribbean and Mexico. He has overseen operations of up to 11 venues and teams of more than 140 associates. He was most recently Director of Food and Beverage at Milaidhoo Maldives, where he ran the division across seven outlets.
The release credits Rico Rodríguez with 30 per cent revenue growth in six months at Milaidhoo. That figure is the operator's own, and Milaidhoo publishes no revenue figures. The release also names audits for Forbes Travel Guide, Leading Quality Assurance and Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Milaidhoo's own site states membership of Small Luxury Hotels and of Forbes Travel Guide.
The Inventory on Both Sides of the Bay
Six Senses La Sagesse spans 38 acres. It holds 56 private pool suites and 15 villas of one to four bedrooms, and the operator publishes three restaurants, a sushi bar and a café there.
InterContinental Grenada opens in November 2026 with 120 rooms, a spa and wellness retreat, family programming, and more than 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
Both counts come from the operator. Neither property publishes an opening rate, an average daily rate or a room count by category.
The Platform the Rooms Sell Into
The release places the new property inside IHG's network. IHG states 20 brands, IHG One Rewards with more than 145 million members, more than one million rooms, 6,700 open hotels across more than 100 countries, and a development pipeline of more than 2,200 properties.
InterContinental's own description reads more than 230 hotels and 74,728 rooms across more than 70 countries, founded by Pan American Airways founder Juan Trippe in 1946.
The 120 rooms enter that system in November. The property's rate ladder, channel mix and opening offers stay off the record, so the rate plan and the booking window need a question to the property before anyone quotes the opening.
Naming in the Record
The release heads the new hotel InterContinental Grenada Resort & Spa. IHG's own hotel page heads the same property InterContinental Grenada – La Sagesse, with the property code skblg. Trade coverage from May, June and July 2026 uses the La Sagesse name and the November opening date.
What the Record Leaves Open
The release names no owner, no management agreement, no contract term and no performance target. It carries no opening rate and no room count by category.
Two career chapters sit on the announcement alone. No independent record located on 23 September 2026 places Adams at Fairmont, Jumeirah Group, Shangri-La, Rosewood or The Ritz-Carlton.
