Residence Inn Mystic Groton: 128 suites, a direct-booking channel and four demand legs

The operator's announcement carries no rate, no minimum stay and no length-of-stay discount. The booking read sits in the demand the release names and the channel it routes.

Residence Inn by Marriott Mystic Groton reopened on a renovated specification. The operator issued the announcement through GlobeNewswire on 17 September 2026. LODGING Magazine carried the same item under its Design section the same day.

The property is a 128-suite extended-stay hotel in southeastern Connecticut. The announcement is the operator's own account of the work, and the booking read inside it is short.

The product the hotel sells

All 128 suites separate the living space from the sleeping space. Each carries a full kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, a cooktop, a microwave, a dishwasher and dining essentials. The release states that every suite is designed for longer stays.

Outside the suite the release lists complimentary daily breakfast, a 24-hour fitness centre, smart televisions, flexible workspaces, Marriott Mobile Key, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, pet-friendly accommodation, outdoor gathering spaces and flexible meeting space. The meeting space is positioned for small business meetings and social events.

The suite kit and the daily breakfast are the two room-night levers an extended-stay property sells on.

The booking channel

The hotel participates in Marriott Bonvoy. The release ties member earning and member benefits to a booking made directly through Marriott channels, and it routes reservations to marriott.com/GONMY or +1 860-536-5150.

No third-party channel is named. No rate, no minimum-stay rule and no length-of-stay discount are published with the announcement. The item also publishes no change to the 128-suite inventory.

The demand the property names

The release anchors the location to Interstate 95 and lists the addresses inside its radius. Mystic Seaport Museum, Mystic Aquarium and historic downtown Mystic sit minutes away. So do Foxwoods Resort Casino, Mohegan Sun Casino, General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Naval Submarine Base New London, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Connecticut College and Pfizer.

The release names four trip types: business, leisure, relocation and extended projects. Weekend getaways and extended business stays sit at the two ends of its own list.

That mix is the reason the booking record matters more than the design record. Casino and Mystic leisure traffic fills weekends. The Groton and New London employers fill weeknights on longer assignments.

The operator

The issuer is HHM Hotels, named in the release's own About block as a hotel management and investment company. The release counts over 235 full-service and select-service hotels across the United States and Canada, plus over 50 independent luxury and lifestyle hotels.

HHM's own home page publishes a different count. It states 200+ hotels, 30+ brands of hotels and restaurants under management, and 50+ years in hospitality management. The release figure and the company figure are both the company's. The property-level operator relationship rests on the release.

What the announcement leaves open

The release says the hotel has unveiled a refreshed guest experience. Its About block calls the work a recent renovation. No completion date, project cost, designer, architect or construction schedule is published.

A regional business journal published an item on 18 September 2026 headlined as a national operator finishing renovations at two Connecticut hotels. Its body did not read from this desk on any route tried, so nothing from it is printed here.

Every figure above comes from the operator's release, from HHM's own website, or from LODGING Magazine beside it.
