The Sandcastle Season Sets Four Booking Gates and No Rate Term

Leap Sandcastle Classic publishes four dates before its 24 October beach day: team registration on 15 August, sponsor materials on 1 October and individual registration through 15 October, with no room block, group rate or cut-off behind any of them.

Four Dates the Organiser Publishes

Leap's 44th Annual Sandcastle Classic runs Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Ocean Beach at Balboa Street in San Francisco. The organiser publishes four dates ahead of the build, and each one moves a booking decision.

Team registration closes August 15, 2026, which is 70 days before the beach day. Sponsor logos and materials close October 1, 2026, 23 days ahead. Individual participant registration runs through October 15, 2026, nine days ahead. Classroom visits run across September and October.

The organiser's FAQ puts the team deadline and the individual deadline in one answer, and it names the beach day as the last of them.

The Demand Those Dates Bound

The organiser caps the field at 30 teams. It describes a team as three to five companies with one partner elementary school, and each team submits a $500 registration fee against a fundraising floor of $5,000.

The event info page counts more than 25 local schools and 500 donating companies and advertisers. The 2026 media release counts professionals from over 100 architecture, design, engineering, construction and technology companies.

Out-of-town firms carry the room demand. The check-in window opens at 8:00 AM, and the build runs five and a half hours from the 11:00 AM start.

The Arrival Clock

The general day-of schedule opens with teams arriving and checking in from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Teams may begin to prep their sites at 10:00 AM. Students arrive between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM, and sandcastle building starts at 11:00 AM.

Castle introductions run at 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM. Building ends at 2:30 PM. The award ceremony starts at 3:15 PM and the event ends at 3:30 PM.

Entry is free to the public. The FAQ states that the public can drop in at Ocean Beach on October 24 without registering.

The Terms the Organiser Leaves to the Property

The organiser's pages publish no room block, no group rate, no cut-off date and no partner property. They publish no shuttle plan, no coach drop-off point and no event parking term.

A reservations desk works from the four published dates instead. The sponsor deadline and the individual registration deadline both sit inside the last three weeks before the build.

The Season Around the Build

The FAQ states that additional events take place over the summer and weekly during October ahead of the main event. The sponsors page names four of them: the Sandcastle Team Kick-Off Mixer, participant trainings under Fundraising 101 and Guidelines to the Classroom, the Sandcastle Pre-Party, and the Sandcastle Post Party known as Castles and Cocktails.

The four carry the team tier's networking terms. The participate page states that teams hold the greatest access of all the participation tiers to networking, perks, trainings, resources and one-on-one coaching sessions.

The organiser's own calendar holds four dated entries, all from 2024. Its events page reads no upcoming events, so no 2026 date is published for the Kick-Off Mixer, the trainings, the Pre-Party or Castles and Cocktails.

What the Desk Can Attach To

The build day gives a property one Saturday, a published arrival window and a 30-team ceiling. The season gives it four named gatherings with no 2026 dates.

The dates a booking desk can hold today are 15 August for a team that intends to enter, 1 October for a sponsor that wants its logo inside the event, and 15 October for an individual participant. The classroom visits run through September and October on school days.
