The Signing and the Proposed Opening
The Zetter Collection will open The Zetter 717 Amsterdam in early 2027. The group announced the project on 16 and 17 September 2026. The property is the group's first address outside the United Kingdom.
The release gives early 2027. Sleeper prints January 2027. The group publishes no date inside that window.
What the Property Holds
The hotel occupies a canal house on Prinsengracht in Amsterdam's UNESCO-listed Canal District. The building dates to 1810 and was built in the Empire style, with a rear structure from the Dutch Golden Age. It holds 24 bedrooms.
Two public spaces carry the guest areas. The Garden Room is a conservatory-style room for breakfast overlooking the hotel's private garden. The Library is the smaller space for drinks and small plates, with book-lined walls, deep rust and terracotta tones, aged brass and reclaimed oak.
The Named Designer and the Named General Manager
James Thurstan Waterworth of the studio Thurstan is redesigning the property. He also led the design of The Zetter Bloomsbury. The group opened that property in 2026 with 24 rooms between Russell Square and the British Museum.
Yara Al Hattouni has been appointed general manager. The release states she will oversee operations and local integration for the group's first property outside the United Kingdom.
The interiors carry aged brass, reclaimed timber, antique mirrors and rich textiles, in the release wording.
The Key Count the New Room Sits In
The group runs The Zetter Clerkenwell with 13 rooms, The Zetter Marylebone with 24 rooms and The Zetter Bloomsbury with 24 rooms. Marrable's Hotel in Farringdon sits under group management. Amsterdam adds a fourth owned address and the first outside the United Kingdom.
The group's own booking flow takes dates, room counts and guest counts on its site. Its locations list carries Clerkenwell, Marylebone and Bloomsbury. Amsterdam appears on none of the group's published pages yet, so the property's booking route has to be built before the first paid night.
The Expansion Statement
Kevin Rockey, managing director of The Zetter Collection, called the move a logical next step for the group. He said the group would respect the character of the building and the neighbourhood and become part of the local community in Amsterdam.
The release states the group's intention to make the property part of the local community in Amsterdam, and to build it around warm, intuitive hospitality.
What the Signing Adds to the Group
The property brings a named designer from inside the group's design lineage and a named local general manager. It also brings 24 keys into a collection whose London addresses hold 61 rooms between them.
The date to test is early 2027, and the confirmation to watch for is an Amsterdam page on the group's own site.
